Security software is an open

MICRO-BLOGGING Service Twitter has released recently acquired Android security software as open source, making it free for people to use, share and expand.

Textsecure software developed by the Whisper system works with encrypted text messages before sending them to the receiver, adding a layer of security that many, especially, will appreciate the business, the more so now it will be open source as the Android operating system itself.

It is interesting that Twitter is not making this part of the features of Android app, or extend the technology to its web site. Usually when the company purchased good software rival pulled it from their system and use it to attract customers, but there will be no avail immediately, apart from a good reputation, to Twitter in releasing this as open source software.

The move suggests a new direction for Twitter which could see it expanded from being just another social media websites to a software company with a lot of influence in the digital market.
